take your teddy bear sledding

Yes, it's worth it to put on and off all that winter clothes. It's worth it to have to run the teddy bear through the laundry. It's worth getting cold. It's worth dealing with all the wet snow gear when you're done.

Even it you'll only spend seven minutes outside.

These are the moments that matter. When the two-year-old wants to take his stuffed bear sledding, you'll be happy you did it in the end. Even if it feels like extra work or unnecessary hassle for just a few minutes of fun. These are the moments we can't get back, so I'm embracing the beauty of the season.

Similarly, we've got to put on our spiritual "snowsuits" each day. Obviously, you wouldn't go outside in negative temperatures without a lot of bundling up. Similarly, don't start your day with negativity or without "bundling up" in the armor of God.

God is there to "keep you warm," to help you win the battles you'll face today, and to help you make the most of your minutes. Maybe you'll only face a seven-minute battle for which you need your armor-of-God-snowsuit on... but nonetheless, it's worth it to suit up. Always.

Take that teddy bear sledding!!!

"10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance"

Ephesians 6:10-18a
